Should the President suspend habeas corpus and arrest those invading our borders?

#83

Correct. I don’t think they bothered to bury the Indians. Maybe the forced labor plantations of the 1900s? Nah, pretty sure those weren’t mass graves.

#84

The Indians didn’t bother to bury people they killed in war or raids either.

As for slaves, those were not mass graves.

Leftist pretty much own mass graves in the modern world. From national socialists to communist, it’s mostly all theirs.

#85

Part of our federal government’s job, as stated in the Constitution, it to “repel invasions”. Unfortunately Chuck Schumer refuses to agree to a bill in the Senate which would provide a down payment on building a wall to repel invasions, and his refusal is part of the reason why we now have a partial government shut down.

JWK

Illegal immigration is now costing American citizens over $18 billion a year in healthcare costs alone, far more than the measly $5 billion asked for to build a wall! LINK

#86

Touche. At least America had the decency to bury some of the people brutally murdered or worked to death in southern penal labor camps.

#87

And while we’re at it, the Robber Barons didn’t fill the land with mass graves and gulags in order to industrialize like your precious communists states did.

#88

You haven’t been paying attention to what is happening. President Trump cannot, regardless of any remarks he makes, shut down the government. The partial shutdown is due to Democrats in the Senate refusing to agree to “Sec. 141 of H.R. 695 which reads:

”Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, there is appropriated for ‘ U.S. Customs and Border Protection—Procurement, Construction, and Improvements’ $5,710,357,000 for fiscal year 2019, to remain available until September 30, 2023. The bill would pass”

If this bill were passed, it would fund the government and end the partial shutdown.

Let’s stop falsely asserting President Trump has triggered this shutdown. The partial shutdown is due to lack of funding, and Congress being derelict in its duty to pass a bill which funds the government.

JWK

There is no surer way to weaken, subdue and then conquer a prosperous and freedom loving people than by allowing and encouraging the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low-skilled, criminal and diseased populations of other countries to invade that country, and make the country’s existing citizens tax-slaves to support the economic needs of such invaders.

#89

I’ve always found it fascinating that the same party who screams the government can’t be trusted with a dime of their money absolutely trusts their government to lock up people indefinitely without due process and now advocates suspending habeus corpus.

The cognitive dissonance is just too much to fathom sometimes.

#90

He would fit in with the Jacobins.

#91

Before suspending civil rights Donald needs to end his shutdown, secure payment from Mexico for the wall, implement Trumpcare so I can have better coverage at a fraction of the cost, defund Planned Parenthood, and appoint a special prosecutor to go after Clinton.

Or I don’t know, we can just add suspending civil rights to the long list of fantasies our highly respected and esteemed Trump supporters are still clicking their heels waiting for.

#92

Some conservatives love government intrusion in private life. It just has to be the right kind.

#93

I thought we went over this more than a few times…

Democrats, nor republicans, have voted on a CR bill yet. There is nothing on the Congress website that shows that it was put up for vote.

Stop spreading misinformation

#94

It takes some a little longer than others to reconcile themselves to the fact that the Donald Shutdown is Donald’s.

#95

You’re great at whataboutism. And, yes they did.

#96

And I have always found it fascinating that those who complain about other people’s suggestions fail to offer a solution. In this case, we need a solution to stop, in its tracks, the flood of poverty stricken, poorly educated, low-skilled, criminal and disease carrying populations of other countries into our country which is now inflicting devastating social and financial costs upon American citizens and especially so in our nation’s inner cities.

As to suspending habeas corpus with respect to immigration, have you forgetting how judges and Justices are impeding Trump’s attempt to stop the ongoing invasion? Suspending habeas corpus with regard to immigration, would not affect American citizens, but it would gum up the works for judicial activists on our courts by making them rule on each illegal entrant who may applying for habeas corpus.

Do you not care about the devastating social and economic effects which mass uncontrolled immigration is having upon American citizens and their towns and cities?

A mere $5.7 billion to build a wall/fence, or whatever you want to call it along the border where the terrain is not an obstacle to illegal border crossings is a wise investment and would go a long way in helping to end this ongoing invasion which dates back to 1985 when 2.5 million illegal entrants were granted amnesty in return for building a wall and securing our border…a promise not kept by the Democrat Party Leadership.

Yes. We did go over this before. You apparently were not paying attention. H.R. 695 is stalled in the Senate because democrats are refusing to agree to “Sec.

The Republicans in the Senate need ten democrats to agree to the bill for its passage. But Senator Chuck Obstructionist Schumer is threatening fellow democrats in the Senate to not vote for the funding bill.

Does that clear it up for you now?

JWK

#98

What are the odds these judges and justices would uphold suspending habeas corpus?

#99

I love the idea of the government suspending civil rights to address this issue. What could possibly go wrong?

#100

You are not following what is written. The judges can only rule on individual cases where an illegal entrant applies for habeas corpus. And this would gum up the works and paralyze these judicial activist judges, while those attempting to flood into our country would be detained under the suspension of habeas corpus.

JWK

American citizens are sick and tired of being made into tax-slaves to finance a maternity ward for the poverty stricken populations of other countries who invade America’s borders to give birth.

#101

So if a federal judge ruled on the executive order suspending habeas corpus, it would apply to only one case?

#102

I’m gonna guess … 0 to 9?
