Should the President suspend habeas corpus and arrest those invading our borders?

95 MILLION of those receiving government “benefits” were social security and medicare recipients… Do you receive one or both of these benefits?

Illegal immigration is now costing American citizens over $18 billion a year in healthcare costs alone! Far more than the measly $5.7 billion asked for to build a wall! LINK

#209

Johnny boy needs to remember this quote: “Those who give up liberty for security deserve neither.”

#210

Are you or are you not receiving one or both of these government “benefits”?

Suspending habeas corpus and indefinitely detaining the 12 million or more undocumented immigrants presently in the US as well as all the others clamoring to get in is a brilliant move. Not only will the government be responsible for the housing and feeding of those people, but the health care costs alone will dwarf any actual or alleged healthcare expenses for undocumented immigrants currently incurred. Add to that the billions in taxes the will no longer be contributed to the tax base by undocumented laborers. This is probably the speediest and most effective idea ever to bankrupt the government.

If you are going to quote, at least get the quote right.

‘They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.’ Benjamin Franklin

There is no surer way to weaken, subdue, demoralize and then conquer a prosperous and freedom loving people than by allowing and encouraging the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low-skilled, criminal and diseased populations of other countries to invade that country, and make the country’s existing citizens tax-slaves to support the economic needs of such invaders.

How sweet of you to exaggerate the question asked. Of course, that is an old and tired stupid debating trick: exaggerate your opponent’s position and then argue against your own exaggeration.

Karl Marx popularized the word “capitalism” __ a word unknown to our founders __ to attack the free market system our founders created. Why do so many talking heads refer to our system as “capitalism” rather than a free market system which our founders created?

Long ago I jumped the ship. Glad I did. GOP has essentially abandoned everything they believe over Daddy Trump.

I am all for building walls, but you have to do it in a sane, reasonable fashion. Our President says wall, wall, wall all the time, when in fact, it’s a much more complex issue. In fact, the President was even shown that there are tunnels underneath the walls.

Is he going after employers who hire illegals? Nope.

Is he coming up with a proposal to prevent immigrants from overstaying their visas? Nope.

Why did the GOP/President reject bills, which mandated more immigration judges and upgrading the fence around the California/Mexico border?

#215

No. Taking away civil rights in a time, when illegal border crossings are at historic lows is pretty stupid. But actually, suspending civil liberties period is a bad idea.

What is Trump’s plan to get rid of the tunnels underneath the wall?

#216

You apparently have not been paying attention to the unprecedented and recent surge of foreigners seeking to flood across our border. Do they really have a “civil right” to enter our country without our consent?

And what about American citizens who are being made into tax slaves to finance the economic needs of the thousands upon thousands of poverty stricken, poorly educated, low skilled, disease carrying, pregnant, and criminal aliens who are invading our borders? Why not have some compassion for American citizens being made into tax slaves to support illegal entrants?

Why not listen to the wise words of Bernadette Lancelin

Border crossings are down 85% in the last 30 years. Stop making things up.

Show the data. Quantify the “unprecedented” increase.

#220

Hey John, who said this:

“45 year low on illegal border crossings this year. Ice and Border Patrol Agents are doing a great job for our Country. MS-13 thugs being hit hard.”

No cheating. No google search. Who said this line?

#221

Read post 194. I am wondering if John disagrees with the person who posted that quote on twitter.

#222

Hey Calvin,

Your above distraction ignores the recent surge in caravan assaults at our southern border and the devastating social and economic costs inflicted upon American Citizens by this invasion.

Tell me Calvin, why are you ignoring the outrage and wisdom spoken by Bernadette Lancelin?

JWK

American citizens are sick and tired of being made into tax-slaves to finance a maternity ward for the poverty stricken populations of other countries who invade America’s borders to give birth.

#223

I notice that when confronted with the decreasing number of people who cross the border, there are those who want to tear apart the constitution because of the increasing number who “seek to” cross the border.

People crossing the border is down, people wanting to cross the border is up, therefore throw away constitution isn’t an argument that convinces me.

See Illegal immigration surges 230 percent in April on southwest border

”Illegal immigration along U.S.-Mexico border surged 230 percent in April compared to last year, according to new numbers released Thursday that experts said expose major loopholes in American immigration law.
Chief among the loopholes is the de facto “catch-and-release” policy that sees most illegal immigrants caught at the border quickly put back out on the streets, with the hope that they’ll return to be deported later.”

The fact is, people crossing our border was up by 230 percent in April of last year, and recently, the numbers in these “caravan” entrants is still on the rise!

Aside from that, Merickson, what exactly do you mean by throwing away the Constitution? The Constitution specifically requires our federal government and our president to deal with “invasions”.

To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion;

It appears rather obvious that our domestic and foreign enemies have figured out they cannot defeat the flame of freedom in the United States by force. And so, they have resorted to undermining the general welfare of the United States by encouraging the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low skilled, disease carrying, and criminal populations of other countries to invade America’s borders, which in turn is an attack upon the general welfare of the United States and her citizens.

Why do so many go to such lengths to allow this invasion to continue? It’s been 35 years since the American People were given assurance by Congress that the federal government would protect the United States against “illegal border crossings”, and yet, the invasion continues. Why?

JWK
